Back in January, on the 19th, we took a family snow day. We drove about 45 minutes up the hill & pulled off of some exit I couldn't even tell you the name of.
We drove down a winding rode & ended up parking on the side of it. The weather was much warmer then we had anticipated. We grabbed the sleds & our mittens & wandered a bit until we found a place to hop on our sleds & take a ride. The stay there was short lived & we made our way over to a little sledding park.
We grabbed lunch at the only thing around, Burger King, & got once again gathered up all of our gear. This place proved to be much more fun & a definitely place to go back to when we get some spare time. The kids had such a blast sledding {& so did Braden & I :) }.
After lots of fun sledding, the kids were eager to go build a snowman. So we got to work packing together some snow & collecting snowman attire. One thing led to another & we were having a full on snowball fight. It was some of the most fun I have ever had... pure joy, just me & the 3 I adore.
Nearby was another little place to sled. We had a good time flying down the hill & laughing. Before we knew it, it was time to load up the car to go back home. I am so glad we have the perfect spot, close to home, to visit the snow.
